How
many times do you say 'I can't do/be that'?
When I was younger I loved drawing and would spend hours painting
on any scraps of paper I could find. After a few throw away
comments from a teacher about the quality of my art I decided
that 'I could not draw' and so the pleasure got shelved. The
'I can't draw' stayed with me.
Other
peoples influences can often seep deep into our subconscious
and can be further enhanced when
our belief stops us from doing something well, then we can
say 'see, I told you I couldn't do it'. We keep affirming
our negative beliefs and then the curiosity to even try is
lost.
Our
self belief's can often be somebody else's labels i.e. you're
so clumsy, awkward, uninteresting, stupid ....Or maybe we
failed once at something we really wanted to do then gave
up, ... Or a sibling that is the apple of the parents eye
causing us to belief we are not good enough.
NLP
is all about reprogramming your brain to eradicate preconceived,
erroneous beliefs. It is based on positive outcomes and works
with the subconscious to bring about change.
We
are what we believe we are
